Hello and good morning from Greenback I am the new found owner of a semi dead Water Dragon. Horrible introduction I know, but true. A week ago I was given a half dead CWD girl. She's three years old and weighs only 4 ounces (Or for those not wanting to do the Math 113 grams). She has MBD and a Respiratory infection. The former owner didn't feed her, didn't bother to check the Humidity or cared in any sense about the husbandry of the Dragon other than to say she owned one (At least that's my Theory!). She didn't open her eyes at all, wouldn't eat, drink, move and I was pretty sure a few days ago that she was a goner. However I haven't lost my magic touch when it comes to sick animals and low and behold this morning one eye opened, she is turning a lovely shade of green again and fighting me a lot less on the force feed and seems to have overall more energy. (It's amazing what the proper UVB/Heat/Food/Medicine/Humidity and some TLC can accomplish!) So maybe we're coming out of this yet Anyways, sorry for the gloomy introduction. Now to the more fun part... I am 39 years old and live with my amazing Husband, 2 Dogs, 1 Cat and my CWD in the sticks. Up until recently, I was the proud owner of a Crestie, but due to professional choices and it's Time Restraints, I decided to give him to some very capable people. Who would have thought that 2 weeks later I would be a be in it all over again... LOL Anyhow if you're still awake after reading my Novel you deserve some Coffee! here ya go ~ ~ c(__)

I like the name Cleopatra was my suggestion hehehe!! Or Phoenix...as she keeps almost rising from the ashes. I remember how beautiful she was, and can't wait for the day she's back to that again.

Hi, Mel! Welcome aboard! Poor dragon. Some people really shouldn't own houseplants, let alone animals. So glad she's in better hands now! _________________

Thanks so much, I am carefully optimisitc at this point The past 4 days I've been feeding her Strawberry Pediasure with Crestie food and calcium powder. I've been putting Terramycin on her eyes and along with the UVB and heat mercury light as well as several warm baths a day it does seem to help her. I hope that when she fully keeps her eyes open that she'll eat live food again. I do have a bowl with three wax worms in her enclosure just in case. I think I will HAVE to name her Phoenix as this is the second time she's risen from the dead...

Hi Mel, I was wondering if you could carry your post over to the Monitors, Geckos, and Lizards area, that way it might be available to other members in the future. As it is now, people will just think it's a long intro and may miss the important stuff!
