I'm planning on heading to Repticon Atlanta to get my first pet reptile (either a baby corn snake or a gargoyle gecko), and of course to see all the cool animals that will be brought in.
It'll be my first time to head to a reptile convention. As silly as it may sound, I was wondering if there was any etiquette I should know about? Specifically:
1. Can I take pictures, or will it make people upset to have their animals photographed?
2. Do people haggle?
3. If you purchase an animal, do dealers supply a container to take it home in? Should I bring my own container?
4. If I purchase an animal, will a dealer place it on hold for me until I leave the convention (rather than carrying it around the con with me)?
5. Is it okay to chat up dealers about their reptiles when I have little knowledge about them, or should I only talk business and leave it at that?
Also, is there any advice anyone can give me in general before I head there? Sorry for the bombardment of questions, I just like to prepare myself for new situations.
