Whether they were visible via popping or not, Makalo's definitely got some penes. lol I put him in a tub with Ailynn last night and found him putting on the charm with her this morning. He's not quite grasping what he's supposed to do, but he's been trying to lock with her midsection for a while now.

The pastel I had Pam pop for a second opinion. It pops female but probes male. lol Oh well... Ailynn is my lightest female so hopefully if I keep pairing them up I'll get at least one nice FEMALE pastel out of it.

Congrats!
I did learn something fromt eh breeder I bought my pastel male from on popping larger snakes. I figure I will practice for a bit on some of my other males before usuing it as a "good" method for myself. And I always have the backup probes.

Was it looking for retained plugs? lol If I pop Mitch, my normal male, I get what looks like dried snot every time. So gross.

No, I've just never really had anyone who showed me how to pop snakes before--I learned from watching youtube vids. LOL But he showed me how to apply a tad of pressure from the vent to the tail tip before actually popping the snake--it helps, and you don't have to use a lot of pressure when poppping them.
