We had a good number of people from KARK, the Knoxville Area Reptile Keepers forum, show up to go to Rainforest Adventures in Sevierville. Our turnout was probably 25 or so...I never got a concrete count.
Baby copperhead...
One of the cages that I thought was pretty neat. RA does a good job constructing them. They use recycled materials to form the base for the stone look.
Jim did a live show for all of us, complete with magic tricks, comedy, and exotic animals. This is Sandy's daughter assisting as he performs one of the tricks.
Jim pulled an alligator out of the enclosure. It barely budged a muscle as he walked around to everyone to let us pet it.
He's not done growing yet!
The porcupines were probably my favorite part of the show. Petting them was fun, and they were quite personable. They halfway figured out how to escape from the enclosure by pushing and pulling on the door, but they would always back away from it as it swung.
Eric's wife, Susan, was pulled up front for another little routine ending in a rose hair tarantula.
All of the kids helped hold up an albino Burmese python. It was pretty heavy. I'm surprised they lasted very long!
Some of KARK stays after the show to speak with Jim.
