| It's September, and breeding season is right around the corner. We've all started tossing around ideas of what we're going to pair up this year. Here's what I'm hoping to work on this coming breeding season: Normal Female (Azrielle) X Pastel Male (Midas) Normal Female (Chloe) X Spider Male (Mushu) Did this pairing last season, too. LOL Orange Ghost Female (Siennah) X Spider Male (Mushu) Possible Pairing (female needs to gain weight): 100% Het Albino Female (Albionne) X 100% Het Albino Male (Alchemy) Possible Pairing (Female needs to gain lots of weight first): Lesser Platinum Female (Maleficent) X Piebald Male (Hercules) Another Possible Breeder: Normal Female (Spaz, Chloe's 2007 daughter) X ? (Don't know if I will pair her or not, but she should make weight) So what's everyone else got in the works for this coming season? You don't have to post pics if you don't feel like it, but I'd love to see them if you would! | |

| I think...
Normal x Mojave (Dewshine x Dragon)
Normal x Pastel & Mojave (Ailynn x Makalo, Fiyero, and/or Dragon)
Normal het Burgundy x Mojave (Freckles x Dragon)
Normal het Piebald x uncertain (Kyriel x ??)
Albino x uncertain (Henna x ??)

| You wouldn't rather aim for double het albino pieds? lol Either way sounds perfectly fine with me. You need to let me know how you'd want to go about splitting the clutches, though. | |

| Ehh, you/we could shoot for double het pied/albino, but I'd really like a visual female albino. LOL So that's all I'd want out of that clutch--first pick of the albino females. You could have the rest of the clutch to do whatever you want with. The pied clutch . . . don't really know what I'd want out of it. Maybe a nice female pied? If the clutch only produced one pied, you could keep it though (I already have a pied, and you don't yet--until your this season clutch hatches ). I'll probably have plenty of babies to feed/house/sell this season anyway if all of my plans work out, so I probably won't have the room/time to worry with too many more. Even if only 3 clutches work out for me, I'll still have my hands full. LOL All I really want is a female albino, seeing as how I don't think my het female is ever going to reach breeding size. But that wouldn't be one I'd be selling anyway--she'd be a keeper. hehe | |

And of a pied clutch, I really don't know what I want. I'd like either a boy or a girl, honestly. I could make plans for either. lol The rest of the clutch I'd be happy to sell and split profit with you.

| I'm thinking forum discount for those extra pied babies. Yeah? YEAH??? J/k, I don't think I will be able to afford a pied for years at least. : P | |

Yeah, I think our best bet for both of us may be to pair the albino and het albinos--then maybe we could both get what we're after. As for the pied clutch, since I already have one, I'm not neccessarily in need of one--though a female might come in handy for me in the future just for pairing with other stuff. But we could always pair them, see what pops out, and go from there. There might be one you really like in the batch, or one I really like, etc. We could get anything we wanted out of them and then sell the rest . . . right now even low-white pieds are going for around $900, so that might be some decent money, even if prices drop a bit by next season. Or we could give one away on this forum and mine to draw in new people . . . just a thought. But we could work out specifics once we knew what we had. Also, something else to consider: us trying to sell double het pied/albinos might prove difficult for us, since neither of us are really what you'd call a "major" breeder. Even with pairing pics of the parents, people might still be more leery of purchasing from us because we aren't "known" if you know what I mean. We might be able to sell them for the price of normals, but we'd probably get more on any visuals we sold.

| That's true but we're not entirely unheard of and I'm sure we'd be able to sell them. I'd like to get an albino pied project off the ground at some point. | |

| LOL No, not entirely unheard of, but not major breeders like RDR, NERD, or TSK either. We might have better luck than I think, especially if it's locals or semi-locals that know us and trust us. But someplace like Fauna might be a bigger area to unload them if there aren't a lot of locals looking to buy them, and they may or may not trust us. We might get stuck with more albino/pied breeders than we'd want or could house. Of course, Mike at Fins N Skins might buy them, but he'd probably want wholesale rather than retail price, and I don't know if he'd want to pay more for the guaranteed genetics or not (I've not seen many morphs in his store other than the annual sale, and I think those are from a breeder friend of his). But we could still shoot for them at some point . . . especially if we both have visuals for both traits. If you get a pied out of the deal, and I get an albino, we could both breed out hets and trade with each other to freshen up the bloodlines, too. I know it is done, but I am not big on sib-to-sib breedings. I prefer to go more with half-sib and half-sib pairings at the very least, and at least the bloodline wouldn't be quite as close--there'd be some mixing with the hets involved. | |

Because we're not major breeders we don't carry the ridiculously high price tags on our animals and that's a plus for a lot of shoppers on sites like Fauna. As long as we don't have poor BOI threads we should do well there. lol Oh and I agree on the trades to freshen bloodlines. It only makes sense.

| No doubt! I was hoping one of these days that I'd get a customer from Fauna or something that could give some feedback on me . . . I do have 1 point of positive feedback as a buyer, but not as a seller. Ah, well, I guess that's just part of the whole "working your way up" thing. It sure took my dad years to get our screenprinting company on the local radar--and now we even have a few out-of-state customers. So this is the groundwork we're having to lay now. LOL It will come in time. | |

| Give us nice deals on snakes and we're sure to give good feedback... No, but really, if I ever buy anything from you two (which I'm sure I will eventually), I'll make a boi thread straight away. | |
