Yeah, my eggs this year were a pretty good size as well, and I had one hatchling that weighed 84 grams when it came out of the egg. Most ball babies average around 70-75 grams at hatching (or at least mine have). Got my fingers crossed for lots of twins or some big healthy babies!
Chunky baby! lol The babies I picked up over the past month came from clutches that averaged 55-60 grams. My pastel male was only 51 grams when he hatched according to his card so 70-75 is not bad at all.

As promised.. Here's a candling shot of each egg.
I tried to get video but the quality was really lousy. I can't figure out what settings I was using on the other candling videos and everything is so blurry that it would just give you a headache to watch it. I only caught a glimpse of one baby moving while I was candling, too. It fluttered just momentarily and then stayed so low in the egg that I really couldn't see anything else besides its outline. *sigh* I'll try again in another week or so and hopefully catch them at a more active point during the day.

Nice pics, and that is a sexy set of eggs you got there. So how is kyriel doing? I think that is her name.

She's doing well. She isn't interested in eating right now but that doesn't really surprise me.
After asking around, I think the consensus is that pattern is developed/developing around day 30 so I'm definitely going to be candling again in a week or so to look for possible pied eggs in the group.

As of now, we're on Day 29. I think I'll wait a few days and candle again and see if any patterns are visible.

I couldn't wait and tried candling them tonight. I can see the pattern starting to come in but it's so hard to really discern what I'm looking at. Maybe it will be more obvious in another week.

That's really awesome how you can see so much by shining the light in them. Hope you get your pieds in there. Mom's a really pretty girl, will be waiting to hear the good news on the patterns!

Between the blurred images and Kyriel sticking her head into almost every video clip I got last night, it's really hard to say what's what... I don't want to get my hopes up, but I do believe I saw what looked like possible pied babies. Of course, they may have been laying belly up and I just didn't see the dark areas of pattern, but who knows. lol
I wish it was September already!

Not sure if I'd be that lucky.. It's really hard to make out on the video, but I believe the egg in the last video has a banding pattern inside like you would expect on a normal so I'm fairly certain that it will hatch out a normal baby 66% het for pied. The rest.. who knows. I have my guesses, but if I post it I'll just jinx myself.

I did get some video but the eggs have begun dimpling so it's hard to get decent angles.
This is at 1:03 in the video above. It may be wishful thinking, but this is one of the eggs that has me hopeful. lol
and another egg in the clutch that I got a fairly decent clip of..
I believe I got some better clips. I'm going to look through them and see if there's a better one to upload and share with you guys.

Got clips of the other two eggs.. One I am certain is a normal because it has the banding.. the other.. I have no idea. We'll all find out in a couple more weeks. lol
You can see normal banding on the right side of the egg in this one.
This one.. it's anyone's guess. I only see a wiggly blob. lol

The wait is torture! I shouldn't be so excited when they're not even my own eggs...but I am! Can't wait for them to hatch. Even if they're all normals, they'll still be sweet.

Well, I couldn't wait any longer. I snipped a tiny flap on each egg and peeked. I think all four are normals judging from the little I could see of them. Lame... But they're all 66% poss. het pieds. I'll post pics when they actually start emerging from the eggs on their own.

Maybe you should use Pam's pied on one of your het pieds for better odds? At any rate, new snakes are always exciting.

Yeah, I plan to borrow Pam's pied, Hercules, and pair him with Kyriel as soon as she's had a few regular sized meals and regained some weight.
And I would LOVE for one of these to turn out to be a really low white pied, Gina. Time will tell. I'm going to leave them alone for a day or two because Kyriel just didn't know what to think of egg goo. lol She did not like it one bit.

The lesser if she makes weight . . . but she's only around 800-900 grams right now, so she may or may not get there. She's been feeding sporadically.
If you want, we can pair your female het pied earlier in the season, and then closer to the end of the season, I can bring him home and pair him with my girl if she's big enough by then.

When were you thinking? I've actually gone ahead and started pairing my pastel and mojave with a couple of my girls. It was more a, "will you do it?" instance than anything but the girls are receptive and the boys are figuring out what they're supposed to do (both of the guys are first timers) .

All but one have come out. No pieds, but all of the babies have beautiful belly markers. I haven't sexed them yet. I'll wait until after their first shed for that. All of them appear to be perfectly healthy but one does have a tiny kink at the very tip of its tail. It shouldn't hinder it in any way, but it's worth noting.

Yeah, the pink haze I was expecting and it will fade away in time but the bellies seem very yellowy in places. They should shed in the next few days so I guess we'll see if the yellow stays.
